This includes all personal information such as contact and billing information, as well as any family information provided for us to perform research.

Copyright and Limited Use License of Research Reports

Ancestral Family Research (hereafter referred to as "we," "our," or "us") holds no claim to copyright on the copies of documents from original records, published or microfilmed sources the client (hereafter "you" or "your") will receive in a completed report. However, the genealogist's report that you receive is copyrighted material. This means that you are free to make additional copies of the documents in accordance with current copyright laws, but you may not reproduce the entire report to be used on web pages, in family newsletters, or for any other use without written permission from us. Limited portions of the report may be quoted if properly cited and credit is given to the genealogist and Ancestral Family Research.

Terms and Conditions of Service:

• We pledge to provide you with the services of qualified, experienced, professional genealogical research. You are purchasing the time and expertise of a skilled researcher. Every research project varies due to the individual family, location and time period. Research results depend upon the existence and availability of records, and are impossible to predict or guarantee.

• We ask that you provide as much family information as possible at the beginning of the research period. If previous research has been conducted on the family, and the information is not given to us, we can not be responsible for duplicating that research.

• Prepayment of research fees is required in order to begin the project.  Your fee covers these expenses related to your project: research, analysis, reporting, printing, and copies of all documents and records readily available at the repository where the researcher is conducting research.

• You authorize up to $50 in expenses for documents that must be ordered from government agencies and other repositories (i.e. birth, death, Social Security Number applications, marriage records, military documents, etc.). You will be billed at the completion of your project for only the direct cost incurred in obtaining the document, with no additional processing fees. Should the needed documents cost more than $50, you will be contacted before they are ordered.

Refund Policy:

Every research project is a unique, custom product. You are paying for a professional service, on an hourly basis, to provide research, analysis, and a report of historical and genealogical data that is specifically unique to your specifications. Research results depend upon the existence and availability of records, and are impossible to predict or guarantee. We are providing our time and expertise, which are not tangible products that can be returned. We therefore do not offer a traditional guarantee and cannot offer refunds on our services.

As previously stated, research results depend upon many variables, and are impossible to predict or guarantee. You are paying for a professional service, not a product. If you are dissatisfied with our services, or with any of these terms and conditions, your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue use of our services.
